Andrea came into my office with a question so many women ask.

Her mother had breast cancer, so she felt strongly about avoiding systemic hormone replacement therapy. BUT, she was also struggling with some of the most common menopause symptoms…vaginal dryness, urinary urgency, interrupted sleep, and unpredictable mood swings.

She assumed that she only had 2 options: Hormone replacement therapy or be miserable and just suffer through symptoms.

The truth is, menopause care doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing.

One of the first things we discussed was the Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM). I explained to her that as estrogen levels fall, the tissues of the vagina and the urethra become thinner, drier, and less elastic. This often leads to vaginal dryness, irritation, pain with sex, urinary urgency, and frequent UTIs.

I explained to her that for women like her who want to avoid systemic hormones, topical estradiol vaginally can be a helpful option. Because it’s used locally (in the vagina and around the urethra), it works mainly in the vaginal and urinary tissues.

This can help restore moisture, plump up and strengthen the tissue lining, and improve urinary symptoms. This type of hormone application is not systemically absorbed, so does not carry the same risks as hormone replacement therapy. A safer option for women looking to avoid systemic hormone replacement.

But vaginal and urinary symptoms are only one piece of the menopause picture.

Most women also experience hot flashes, night sweats, fatigue, brain fog, irritability, and sleep disruption. These symptoms are driven by changes in the body’s hormone signaling system.

That’s where non-hormonal support can play an important role.

That’s why I formulated Ultra Hormone Balance. It is an all natural, non-hormonal botanical formula designed to support the body during the hormonal shifts of perimenopause and menopause.

Ultra Hormone Balance addresses the most common symptoms that make life challenging during this phase of life.

The ingredients work in several important ways:

Together, these ingredients help support temperature balance, mood, energy, and hormonal stability during the menopause transition.

What Andrea found most reassuring was this:

Menopause care doesn’t have to be an all-or-none decision.

For many women, the best results come from an integrative approach – targeted local therapy for vaginal and urinary health, combined with science-based nutritional support that helps our bodies adapt to the hormonal changes of perimenopause and menopause. You DON’T just have to suffer through!
